What Is WisMesh Repeater?
The WisMesh Repeater is a ready-to-use Meshtastic Solar repeater designed to extend the range of the Meshtastic LoRa® Mesh network. Combined with our Universal Solar Battery Lite, it allows reliable outdoor deployment even in areas with no permanent power supply. It is built with an IP67-rated durable enclosure and connectors. It also supports both wall and pole mounting, similar to the WisMesh Repeater Mini.
If you want to use your own solar panel, battery, and charger solution, the WisMesh Repeater accepts an input voltage between 5 to 16V DC. Please note:
-
It is required to use a charger with a regulated 12V output.
-
We cannot guarantee the performance of the system.
-
We cannot be held responsible for any malfunctions of the WisMesh Repeater, such as issues arising from a cold start with an empty battery.
Why You Need WishMesh Repeater
The WisMesh Repeater is built for reliable, long-range Meshtastic communication in areas with no power or infrastructure. Designed for tough outdoor conditions, it ensures continuous connectivity for remote networks, emergency setups, and off-grid use cases—all with minimal maintenance and solar-powered operation.
Why it’s useful:
-
Extends Range – Strengthens and extends Meshtastic LoRa mesh networks in remote areas.

Key Benefits of WisMesh Repeater
A repeater keeps your Meshtastic network connected when direct communication fails. It helps in three key ways:
-
Fixing network gaps: If two nodes are too far apart or blocked by obstacles, a repeater bridges the connection.
-
Increasing reliability: If a node goes offline, a repeater keeps the network stable.
-
Extending coverage: A repeater extends signal range in resource-scarce environments.
Use Case #1
Professional-grade Meshtastic solar repeater networks rely on the WisMesh Repeater for continuous coverage in remote locations. Its rugged design and solar power make the device ideal for long-term, off-grid deployments.
Use Case #2
The WisMesh Repeater ensures reliable Meshtastic Relay functionality, bridging gaps in LoRa mesh networks. It keeps communications stable in areas with difficult terrain or unpredictable connectivity challenges.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the WisMesh Repeater different from other Meshtastic repeaters?
The WisMesh Repeater by RAKwireless is designed for professional-grade deployments, featuring an IP67-rated enclosure, a flexible power system with a solar battery, and a high-performance WisBlock RAK4631 module. Unlike smaller, portable repeaters, it is built for rugged, off-grid installations that require long-term reliability.
How do I maximize the performance of my WisMesh Repeater?
To maximize the performance of your WisMesh Repeater, ensure it is running the latest Meshtastic firmware and properly configured via the mobile app or CLI. Position the Solar Battery Lite in direct sunlight for optimal charging, and mount the repeater in an elevated, unobstructed location to improve LoRa signal propagation.
Why is my WisMesh Repeater not connecting to the network?
If your repeater isn't connecting, check these points:
-
Ensure it has sufficient power and is correctly wired to the Solar Battery Lite.
-
Confirm that your Meshtastic firmware is up to date.
-
Verify that the device is properly configured using the Meshtastic app or CLI.
-
If using a custom power source, ensure it provides a stable 12V regulated output.
Why does my repeater’s range seem limited?
If the range is shorter than expected, consider these adjustments:
-
Place the repeater higher or in an area with fewer obstructions.
-
Ensure the battery is fully charged for consistent power delivery.
-
Update to the latest Meshtastic firmware for optimal performance.
-
Avoid interference from other electronic devices or structures.
How do I securely mount the WisMesh Repeater?
The WisMesh Repeater supports both wall and pole mounting. Use the provided brackets and ensure a firm installation to withstand harsh weather conditions. Keep the solar panel oriented towards the sun for maximum efficiency.
How do I update the Meshtastic firmware on my WisMesh Repeater?
The WisMesh Repeater comes pre-flashed with Meshtastic firmware, but updating ensures compatibility with the latest features.
